How to search courses and institutions for study in USA?

The master's degree and the doctoral degree are two major types of graduate degrees in USA and
involve a combination of research and
course work. Almost all courses are available for international
students to choose for higher studies. Depending on the subject, courses
may be quite formal or
they may be relatively informal. For each course you complete, you earn three to four credits
(generally reflecting
number of hours spent) and US degree requirements are stated in terms of
credits.
Master’s degrees are offered in many different fields
and there are two main types of programs:
academic and professional.
- The academic master’s (like M.S., M.A.) require 30 to 60 credit
hours and can be completed in one or two years of full time study. The academic master's may be lead directly to doctoral
level.
- The professional master’s (like M.B.A., M.Ed., Master of Fine Arts M.F.A.) usually require
completion of 36 and 48 credit
hours and can be completed in one to two years of full time
studies. These programs do not lead to doctoral level.
Doctoral
degrees are offered for demonstrated capacity as a trained research scholar in a specific
discipline. Doctorate awarded in academic
discipline like Ph.D., doctorate in other professional areas
like D.Ed. (Doctor of Education), D.B.A. (Doctor of Business Administration)
are some examples.

If you know the name of institution, you may directly search from their official website as most US institutions have their own websites.

course of study and institution for you.

Educational Advising offices) in you country by the United States government. The advising offices have up-to-date information,
university bulletins, and publications and can provide right guidance on admission procedures, financial planning, visa requirements
etc.
